What do I get in my first appointment with Laura? In your first appointment you can count on a direct relationship with Laura. Laura will listen to your health issues and your journey. Laura’s insight and empathy will help you be understood in a unique way. From there Laura will assess your situation and develop initial strategies to address these. Sometimes functional testing may be recommended. Laura works with you to decide which strategies feel comfortable for you to implement. Laura is considerate to each person’s limitations and believes in her approach to help you feel you can take the steps you need to feel better. If supplements are recommended Laura crafts a plan in stages so that you are not overwhelmed with supplements, and Laura truly believes your best chances of success lie in the a more strategic approach. If you need help during the first two weeks, Laura is available through your patient portal for quick questions.

Where is Laura’s office? Our office is located at 2301 Ohio Drive, Suite 200. Use the south entrance, the door with the awning. Go up the stairs (or elevator) to the second floor. If you use the stairs, make a left at the stairs and we are on the left. If you use the elevator head straight and we are on the left. The restroom is down the hall from our office, make a right at the phone equipment closet and restroom is on the left. Laura also sees persons virtually on phone or telemed video. 

Do you take insurance? We do not take insurance for appointments but some of our testing is covered by insurance. Anything not covered you can submit your receipt directly to your insurance or medishare. Reimbursements are not guaranteed and are between you and your insurance or medishare program. If you require additional documentation from Laura’s office for submission to your insurance company or medishare, there is an additional charge for administrative time. Laura’s already discounted cash prices do not include billing insurance or medishare paperwork involvement. We offer a actual cash discount if using cash or check of 5%. Debit cards do not qualify for this discount.

Do you take HSA or FSA cards? Laura does take HSA cards and FSA, and some require a letter from Laura’s office to get your charges approved which Laura is happy to provide. 

What do I need to know about Laura’s approach? Laura is dedicated to a relationship directly with you where she works with you to have a plan that works for you. When you make an appointment with Laura you will always be in session with Laura, you will not be in session attached to a machine and you will not be passed off to another employee. If you really want to work with a true functional practitioner you want to work with someone like Laura where the relationship, and your health is the priority through her knowledge and her expertise.

Do I need to have lab work done before scheduling an appointment? No, lab work does not need to be completed prior to your appointment. If you already have lab work completed within the past year, please include it with your completed health history, but if you do not have lab work Laura will ask you to either wait or add on to the lab request based on your current symptoms. Traditional labwork can now be done in our office and are covered by some insurance companies such as Blue Cross, United and Medicare. Functional test panels are not covered by insurance and are offered at discounted rates.

I want my hormones tested. Do you do this? Laura specializes in functional hormone testing. We offer both traditional and functional hormone testing. Hormones is one of our specialties.

I have a specific diagnosis and want to know if you can help? Laura works with any diagnosed condition. Laura has been in practice for almost twelve years and has the expertise and confidence you will come to appreciate while working with her on your health and wellness.

Can you write a Rx for my thyroid? Yes, our Nurse Practitioner can write any prescription for anything needed. 

How do I schedule an appointment for my child? The appointment is always in your name, the parent/adult because the appointment is with you regarding your child, but the intake form is completed with your child’s information. Your child is NOT needed for the appointment, and it is preferred that you have uninterrupted time for your appointment.

What do you charge for a visit? All pricing is posted on the Fee Schedule page.

Where do I get the supplements you recommend? Laura sells the supplements she recommends. In the event she has recommended a special product she do not stock she will either order it special for you or tell you where to purchase. Laura can also help you use the current supplements you have on hand if they are or will be appropriate to you going forward.

Where do I get the food you recommend? Laura does not usually recommend a food product, and she does not stock food products, but if she recommends a particular food or brand of food such as a type of Apple Cider Vinegar or Aloe Vera Juice she will let you know where you can find these items.

It has been a while since my last visit, what should I do? If it has been longer than a year since your last visit, you need to set up again as a new client. If it has been less than a year schedule the extended follow up to make sure we cover any and all changes in your health.

I am interested in the genetic review, what do I do? Excellent! The genetic review is an insightful and educational opportunity. Please schedule an appointment to discuss this with Laura.
